We had a wonderful week in Villa do Alamo! The villa was everything we expected it to be, and more. Lina went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, and we really appreciated that you let us stay in the house a bit longer the last day, due to our late flight home. We would definitely want to come back.

Beautiful location, just outside Tavira. We knew that we would need a car, so that was fine. Plenty of parking space. Views were spectacular, 360 degrees all round! Bedrooms clean and spacious. This property was arranged cleverly to accommodate a family with children, or 5 grown up couples, (although 2 rooms had twin beds). Decent bbq area. Shaded patio area in front of bbq and table, but sunny area too for the sun-worshippers of this world. Great cooking facilities both inside and out. Would thoroughly recommend the villa, and thank you Angie for meeting us with the key and familiarising us with all the gadgets and fittings etc.

We all enjoyed the villa very much. It was spacious, clean and layed out well for three couples (and would have been fine for children also). We appreciated having 3 bedrooms with queen/king beds. The kitchen was well equipped, and we enjoyed using the grille off of the swimming pool. The villa was well situated for us, being out in the quiet country with beautiful views of the nearby orchards, yet within 10 minutes of beaches, markets, and restaurants. We discussed how it would be a vacation area we would return to and would recommend it to others.

This bespoke, brand new 5 bedroom villa is located in the tranquil hills just outside the old town of Tavira, with incredible panoramic views. Easy access to beautiful white sand beaches and great golfing. Spacious terraces surround the house and a splendid mosaic pool. Generous and ergonomically designed ensuite bedrooms. An ideal holiday location for large families and couples.

What is the outside area like?

Villa do Álamo is surrounded by ample terraces on both floors affording great views. The secluded and private 7 acre grounds border orchards and olive groves of neighbouring farms. Villa Álamo has a shaded poolside dining and purpose built barbeque area.

What is the interior like?

The living space of Villa do Álamo is on the first floor, with spacious dining and living rooms and a wonderful, more than fully equipped kitchen! No expense has been spared on the kitchen appliances and utensils, a delight to use! The kitchen has a walk-in pantry that leads from the kitchen with another freezer. Even the kitchen has panoramic views…

Terraces can be accessed from the living room and dining room and have plenty of space for dining and entertaining al fresco.

There is unlimited wireless internet access included, a DVD player, and ipod docking station. Free to view UK and European channels are available.

On the ground floor each en suite bedroom has access to the pool terrace and has been designed with first class finishings and furnishings. Each room has mosquito screens on every door and window that allows for enjoying the sea breeze, all bedrooms also have air conditioning.  There are three king size beds and two twin beds. An extra guest bathroom with a bath tub is on the ground floor by the front door and utility room.

Are sun loungers and umbrellas provided?

Ten quality sun loungers deck the terrace around the pool and there are sun umbrellas.

What are the dimensions of the pool? What type of pool cleaning?

A beautiful 10 m x 5 m pool with steps leads into a shallow end of 90 cm and a deep end of 2 m. Freshwater pool with salt cleaning system. There is an external shower beside the pool and an external WC and basin by the house. The pool is serviced twice weekly during summer and once weekly during the rest of the year by a competent and reliable professional.

How far are the shops and restaurants?

A variety of supermarkets are just 1.4 km away, a short car or taxi ride away. Within Tavira numerous cafes and a good choice of restaurants offer an abundance of fresh and local cuisine and low key charismatic nightlife.

How far are the beaches?

There is a boat service from the centre of Tavira to the beach island of Tavira and also further down river from Quatro Aguas. Barril beach and Manta Rota beach are approximately 10 minutes drive away.

How far are the golf courses?

There are excellent golf courses within 8 to 15 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei.

Is a car recommended for this property?

Yes, especially in the heat of summer…and for reaching all the beautiful and interesting places further afield. Car rental, taxi transfers and bicycle hire can be organized with local reputable firms in advance or by calling the local representative.


Is the accommodation suitable for children?

Parents should be aware that all bedrooms access the pool terrace, however the pool area is gated and can be locked if necessary. Children must always be supervised by an adult.

What facilities are there for babies and children?

There is a cot, linen and high chair supplied. Villa Álamo has a baby bottle sterilising unit, as well as a potty and a baby bath.  There are also feeding cups and plastic plates and cups for children. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.

Is the accommodation suitable for elderly?

There are a flight of stairs internally and externally to reach the first floor living area.

How close are the nearest neighbours? Is the property overlooked?

Villa do Álamo is not at all overlooked and is located at the end of the lane. The nearest house is 150 metres away.

What type of access it there to the property?

Tarmac roads from Tavira lead to a 450 metre country lane onwards to the villa.

How quiet is the area around the property?

The area of Monte do Álamo is rural and quiet.

Is smoking permitted?

Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside the property.

Are pets allowed at the accommodation?

Due to the possibility of guests being allergic to animal hair, we would rather not allow pets.

Which is the changeover day and time?

Flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as possible. Departure is by 10am and arrival is from 2pm unless otherwise arranged.

Are linen, bath towels and beach towels provided?

Yes, we provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change including a clean of the bathrooms.

Will there be provisions at the accommodation upon arrival?

There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of beverages, with additional breakfast and snacks provided for late arrivals.

Will there be a local representative available on arrival and in the event that we need any assistance?

Guests will be met at the villa, or otherwise informed where to locate the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and competent service from a team of property managers, who can be contacted at anytime.

Additional pricing information.

In mid season:

950 euros per week for the house with 2 bedrooms, an additonal 200 euros for any extra bedroom

In low season:

800 euros per week for the house with 2 bedrooms, an additonal 100 euros for any extra bedroom

A breakage deposit of 500 euros is required with balance payment, which will be refunded within one week of departure.

There is a 50€ weekly allowance toward air conditioning, any excess paid locally as per meter reading.

There is a booking fee of 20 euros per booking.
