An exquisite and newly built, modern 2-bedroom house elevated above goat-grazing pastures, with beautiful views to the coast and hinterland.

Quinta Lusitana comprises generous rooms with first class furniture and finishings, constructed with great attention to quality, using natural materials and hypo-allergenic paint.

With all modern conveniences, an elegant eco-pool and terraces surrounding the house and an ample roof terrace, Quinta Lusitana is a dream retreat, ideal for people who enjoy entertaining and relaxing in comfort in the countryside!

What is the outside area like?

Traditional Algarvean rounded hills and pastures dotted with almond, olive, carob and fig trees surround the house and beyond the garden area, leading out to wonderful sea views.

Nestled amongst the traditional terracotta roof tops is a large roof terrace, reached by stairs at the rear of the house. The covered terraces on ground level can be reached from each room and offer sunlight and shaded area all through the day.

Quality wooden and iron exterior furniture allows for dining al fresco and for relaxing beside the water with its reeds and planted surround. An outdoor shower can be used before and after swimming in the eco-pool….or for simply cooling down on a sunny day!

The garden is totally fenced and gated within the acres of land belonging to the property.

What is the interior like?

The main entrance leads into an open-plan, fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The living room is light and airy with two large double glass doors opening out to the terrace in front of the eco-pool. Underfloor heating is generated by the wood stove which efficiently heats the whole house. Elegant furniture and seating, a large flat screen TV with satellite channels, and plenty of original artwork offers comfort and style for families and couples all year round.

Both bedrooms have king size double beds and double glass doors leading out to the south facing terraces. Mosquito nets are provided over the beds and fans are supplied in each room.

Are sun loungers and umbrellas provided?

Four quality sun loungers deck the terrace around the pool and the south facing terraces are covered. There are tables and chairs available both sides of the house.

What are the dimensions of the pool? What type of pool cleaning?

This wonderful eco pool measures 6m x 6m with steps leading into a depth of 2 m and is freshwater and functions in a totally natural cleaning system by oxygenating plants.

The water is much softer and more pleasurable to immerse in than a chlorinated pool, well worth trying for those who have not experienced it! The extent of wildlife and fauna that a natural pool attracts is delightful to observe and continuously changing all year round – specially in contrast to chlorine pools that sustain no life and attribute very little to the environment for 8 months of the year!

The pool is serviced twice monthly during summer and once monthly during the rest of the year by a competent and reliable professional.

How far are the shops and restaurants?

The nearest villages are Quelfes and Laranjeiro, approximately 1 km away from the house. For restaurants, shopping and socialising one can reach Moncarapacho 4.5km away or further afield at 8km is the fishing towns of Fuzeta and Olhão with their wonderful beach islands reached by ferry.

How far are the beaches?

The white sand islands outside Olhão are 8km away plus the ferry boat time. Fuzeta offers a clean white sand river beach in case one wants to have quick access to water or by boat to Fuzeta Island by boat, There are many boat tours, SUP and Kite surfing setups at Fuzeta, well worth trying! Tavira and its beaches are 20km away.

How far are the golf courses?

There are excellent golf courses within 40 to 50 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest on the east side are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei and on the west side Quinta do Lago and the other more well known courses.

Is a car recommended for this property?

Yes, especially in the heat of summer…and for reaching all the beautiful and interesting places further afield. Car rental, taxi transfers and bicycle hire can be organized with local reputable firms in advance or by calling the local representative.

 

Is the accommodation suitable for children?

Quinta Lusitana can only accommodate children over 8 years old or babes in arms.

What facilities are there for babies and children?

Please confirm ages and cot/high chair on request. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.

Is the accommodation suitable for elderly?

Quinta Lusitana is ideal for elderly and infirm as it is all on one level and has good access for wheelchairs.

How close are the nearest neighbours? Is the property overlooked?

The property is not overlooked and the nearest neighbours are more than 300 metres away.

What type of access it there to the property?

A 100 metre dirt track leads from the tarmac access road until the gate. Beyond, the drive and covered parking area beside the house is graveled.

How quiet is the area around the property?

Being a countryside setting with few neighbours in the vicinity, this location is quiet and very private. However, there is always the possibility that one could hear the usual rural sounds.

Is smoking permitted?

This is definitely a non-smoking house and grounds. Please always take great care to put the barbeque out after use.

Are pets allowed at the accommodation?

On request we can allow pets.

Which is the changeover day and time?

Flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as possible. Departure is by 10am and arrival is from 2pm unless otherwise arranged.

Are linen, bath towels and beach towels provided?

Yes, we provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change including a clean of the bathrooms. During longer winter lets cleaning and linen changes are agreed on an individual basis.

Will there be provisions at the accommodation upon arrival?

There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of beverages, with additional breakfast and snacks are provided for late arrivals.

Will there be a local representative available on arrival and in the event that we need any assistance?

Guests will be met at the villa, or otherwise informed where to locate the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and competent service from a team of property managers, who can be contacted at anytime.
