Thank you for your email and also for the provisions which you kindly left for us on arrival.
We all very much liked the Casa, it felt warm friendly apart from being very well furnished with a nicely sized and well equipped kitchen.
The different gardens were also admired, not only for their individual designs (and hidden irrigation) but for the gorgeous fragrant  shrubs and  architecturally placed trees, and the barbeque area was a pleasure to eat in of an evening with sometimes a chorus of cicadas, one of whom became a regular visitor. Our compliments to the Gardener
All of us had a most enjoyable holiday in our favourite area of the Algarve and we look forward to our next visit.

This 4 bedroom villa is a gem.... Casa Azul has recently been lovingly renovated and the utmost attention has been paid to detail, comfort and quality. The proximity to Tavira, beaches and all amenities is another definite bonus. Large, comfortable and light fully air conditioned rooms leading to beautifully kept mature gardens and ample terraces surrounding a 10 x 5m pool. Casa Azul has plenty of space for lounging and dining both inside and outside the villa, soaking up the sun or keeping cool beneath the shade.

What is the outside area like?

Comfortable outdoor seating under a pergola with a built-in barbeque area, poolside furniture, tended lawns and an abundance of fruit and palm trees... all help to make this an idyllic location for spending holidays. More covered seating is available in front of the pool, some steps away from the kitchen. Mature and fruit yielding trees including grapefruit, avocado, almond, olive and citrus, set among lawns, palm trees and beautiful planted beds.

What is the interior like?

Enjoy cooking in the state of the art fully fitted kitchen. The kitchen and dining area leads into the living room with large sofas, a flat screen TV with UK free to view and Astra channels, DVD player and Music stereo. There is a free broadband internet service (up to 6MB) from each room and another television in one of the double upstairs bedrooms. There is adequate cooling and heating provided by an environmentally friendly heat exchanger pump and solar panels. Casa Azul comprises two double bedrooms downstairs, one of which is en suite and 2 double bedrooms upstairs. All bedrooms have been furnished with new comfortable beds and mattresses and have built-in cupboards, good quality linen and mattresses. There are three beautifully finished and ample bathrooms in total. All glass doors are double glazed and have mosquito nets, shutters and curtains. Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor and opens out to the terrace. It has a large en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, wc, bidet and a wash basin. The room is also furnished with a sofa and couch. Bedroom 2 is also on the ground floor and has a bathroom beside it with shower, bidet, wc and a wash basin. Bedroom 3 is upstairs with access to a terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. It has a flat screen television and desk. Bedroom 4 is also on the first floor and accesses the same terrace. In between the upstairs bedrooms is a generous bathroom with a large walk-in shower, bidet, wc and two wash basins.

Are sun loungers and umbrellas provided?

8 brand new quality sun loungers deck the terrace around the pool and there are sun umbrellas, stone tables and chairs available.

What are the dimensions of the pool? What type of pool cleaning?

A beautifully clear 10 x 5m pool with roman end steps leading into a shallow end of 1m and a deep end of 2m. This is a freshwater pool with a copper iron sanitization system, which requires neither salt nor chlorine and produces soft, practically potable water. There is a beautiful mosaic outdoor shower near the shallow end of the pool. The pool is serviced twice weekly during summer and once weekly during the rest of the year by a competent and reliable professional. Pool and garden lighting is available.

How far are the shops and restaurants?

The nearest amenities are 3km away with quiet roads reaching the charming villages of Santa Estevao, Sinagoga, Santa Margarida and the adorable town of Tavira.

How far are the beaches?

Beautiful blue flag sandy beaches and island lagoons all along the coast are located within 5 to 10 minutes reach by car.

How far are the golf courses?

There are excellent golf courses within 10 to 15 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei.

Is a car recommended for this property?

Not essential but nice, especially in the heat of summer…and for reaching all the beautiful and interesting places further afield. Car rental, taxi transfers and bicycle hire can be organized with local reputable firms in advance or by calling the local representative.



Is the accommodation suitable for children?

This accommodation is suitable for children, gated and fenced perimeters and beautifully cared for gardens. There is a type of ha-ha for rainwater collection in the back garden which is crossed over with a small bridge. During summer this is always dry but is not walled.

What facilities are there for babies and children?

There is a cot and high chair provided. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.

Is the accommodation suitable for elderly?

Perfectly suitable.

How close are the nearest neighbours? Is the property overlooked?

Gardens back on to the neighbouring house, approximately 60 metres away, however the property is not at all overlooked.

What type of access it there to the property?

Casa Azul is accessed via a small cul-de-sac off a country road. There is parking space in front of and within the gated drive.

How quiet is the area around the property?

A quiet and very small rural neighbourhood comprising a handful of houses, set amongst fields and fruit groves.

Is smoking permitted?

Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside the property.

Are pets allowed at the accommodation?

Due to the possibility of guests being allergic to animal hair, we would rather not allow pets.

Which is the changeover day and time?

Flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as possible. Departure is by 10am and arrival is from 2pm unless otherwise arranged.

Are linen, bath towels and beach towels provided?

Yes, we provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change including a clean of the bathrooms.

Will there be provisions at the accommodation upon arrival?

There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of beverages, with additional breakfast and snacks are provided for late arrivals.

Will there be a local representative available on arrival and in the event that we need any assistance?

Guests will be met at the villa, or otherwise informed where to locate the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and competent service from the owners and staff, who can be contacted at anytime.
