Just a note to thank you for your help & the help of your colleagues in making our holiday a success. We got back last night & had a really good time & found the accommodation just what we needed & the facilities provided to be all that we hoped for. The pool was good & the weather great. Jamie & Caroline found Angie very helpful in meeting them & in explaining the facilities when they arrived & responsive in sorting out the problem of access we had when we were unfortunately locked out by the cleaners. We really liked the area & the setting of the villa, nice & quiet & secluded but not too far from shops & beaches etc & found the information you provided helpful & the directions to the property very useful..So all in all we had a very good holiday & would like to thank you for all your help especially when we consider the problem we had with accommodation before we made contact with you.

We had a good time in Portugal as usual. The property was well situated, the pool was perfect and the house not too big or too small!Angie was always there to support (satellite reception, cistern issues, electricity cuts) and did everything to help us, we really appreciated that! However, we will not choose Villa Barharra for our next holidays.

We will definitely use your services again, you seem to be a hard-working, proactive team of professionals and it was a pleasure to deal with you. I mean that, genuinely. I wasn't sure that you would respond at 10.30/11pm on a Sunday night, and I was impressed that you did. Tony was also very attentive, he came round several times and the pool was extremely clean. He offered to come round more regularly because the pool was slightly cloudy one day, but I said it wasn't necessary, the pool was clean. He did come round anyway, but it wasn't really necessary. Very kind.
With regards to feedback, everything was as we expected really, which is 100% correct.
WIFI: Your solution for the WIFI was ideal. Good WIFI is vital these days when abroad, it is an expected 'norm' in hotels of 3* and above, and most hotels are proud to provide fast, reliable access to impress their clients and encourage repeat business. I would say that for self-catering accommodation and villas, client expectation is the same, and therefore the owners should consider that as a vital provision too. In our case, it is one of our essential criteria when we start looking for properties. And property stating "Reliable, fast WIFI" catches our attention, and we would be prepared to pay a weekly charge if it is a very good service.
- TV: Access to some film channels and BBC would have been nice, even if it is charged as an extra. We don't watch much TV but some families might.
- CLEANING: The property was extremely clean.
We had a lovely time there and hope to come back again to this area!

This charming three bedroom house is situated 1km from the quaint village of Santa Estevão and an 8 minute drive from the historic town of Tavira. The pool and grounds are enclosed. Breakfast under the old carob tree, lounge around the pool, enjoy a fresh fish barbeque on the terracotta patio and soak up the sun...

What is the outside area like?

With ample space for sunbathing beside the 6m x 3m pool, and pretty climbing plants bordering the other sides, this makes a refreshing place to while away the day... Lounger beds, umbrellas and a small table are provided by the pool. Under the shade of a large carob tree there is an outdoor dining table beside the built-in barbeque, near the kitchen. The parking area, car port and courtyard are completely walled and gated.

What is the interior like?

A light and airy living room with comfortable furnishings and an open fireplace. Double sliding glass doors open onto a large, sunny, split-level patio facing the pool and flower beds. The cottage has television, with limited English channels, a stereo and a DVD player. There is also internet access. The master bedroom has a double bed and is accessed from the living room and has patio doors leading to the pool terrace. There is one other double bedroom and a twin bedroom with a bathroom in between. A comfortable kitchen with a dining table leads out onto the barbeque patio with outdoor dining facilities. Perfect for warm outdoor life!

Are sun loungers and umbrellas provided?

Six sun loungers deck the terrace around the pool and there are sun umbrellas, tables and chairs available.

What are the dimensions of the pool? What type of pool cleaning?

6 x 3m with steps leading into a shallow end of 1m and a deep end of 1.5m. Freshwater pool with a chlorine cleaning system. The pool is serviced twice weekly during summer and once weekly during the rest of the year by a competent and reliable professional. Pool and garden lighting is available.

How far are the shops and restaurants?

Just 1 km down the road you will find Santo Estevão which offers a small variety of local shops and cafés and a good value traditional restaurant.

How far are the beaches?

Ilha de Tavira and Barril is reached in 15 minutes drive.

How far are the golf courses?

There are excellent golf courses within 15 to 20 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei.

Is a car recommended for this property?

Yes, we recommend hiring a car, especially in the heat of summer…and for reaching all the beautiful and interesting places further afield. Car rental, taxi transfers and bicycle hire can be organized with local reputable firms in advance or by calling the local representative.

 

Is the accommodation suitable for children?

This cottage is very suitable for families with children of all ages.

What facilities are there for babies and children?

There is a cot and high chair provided. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.

Is the accommodation suitable for elderly?

Apart from some split levels on the patio and some steps leading to the master bedroom, this property is level and suitable for those less mobile.

How close are the nearest neighbours? Is the property overlooked?

There is a house over the road 50 metres away. The property is not at all overlooked.

What type of access it there to the property?

Vila Barharra is located off a quiet small road.

How quiet is the area around the property?

The vicinity is rural, peppered with a few local residents. The motorway is 260 meters away.

Is smoking permitted?

Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside the property.

Are pets allowed at the accommodation?

House trained small pets are allowed, please enquire.

Which is the changeover day and time?

Flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as possible. Departure is by 10am and arrival is from 2pm unless otherwise arranged.

Are linen, bath towels and beach towels provided?

Yes, we provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change including a clean of the bathrooms.

Will there be provisions at the accommodation upon arrival?

There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of beverages, with additional breakfast and snacks are provided for late arrivals.

Will there be a local representative available on arrival and in the event that we need any assistance?

Guests will be met at the villa, or otherwise informed where to locate the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and competent service from a team of property managers, who can be contacted at anytime.
