Our stay in the house was wonderful.
We and our dogs have enjoyed very much the garden and the beautiful views.
If we would come back some day to visit the Algarve beaches (sure), we would do it in this place if it is possible.

We have just a few "less positive" things to point out but nothing important:Namely the dusty access road, which you can't probably do nothing about it and too few lights on the terrace and backyard; As you can see, not big of a deal but perhaps these hints can help you to improve even more your already very good service. Yes, we did enjoy the stay at Casita da Ria a lot, the house is really nice and well equipped. There were many small details we enjoyed like the good mattresses (which often are poor in rentals), the mosquito nets, the nice ceramics, a well-working shower and all the towel hangers in the bathroom (which are usually never enough)... The patio is lovely and also the terrace, which we used less because it was much too hot.Thanks again and best regards

A delightful two bedroom countryside house in a peaceful and idyllic location just 100 metres from a tidal river and within walking distance to beaches within the Ria Formosa nature reserve. An excellent spot for nature lovers, walkers, bird watchers and beachcombers…

What is the outside area like?

This accommodation has a private 250m2 terraced garden with an inviting seating area with fresh herbs under the shade of a lemon and fig tree. Surrounded by almond groves and orchards, this property has spectacular views over the lagoon and reaching far out to the countryside. A large roof terrace with a shaded seating area and sun beds offers even more privacy for dining al fresco and sunbathing. A traditional barbeque and bread oven may inspire some Mediterranean cuisine…

What is the interior like?

An artistically renovated interior offers all comforts and modern facilities for a perfect family holiday, with a double bedroom and twin bedroom, dining and living room, large kitchen and bathroom. There is heating provided by a large wood burning stove in the living room and air conditioning in the kitchen plus wafer radiators in the bedrooms. Casita da Ria has wireless internet access.

Are sun loungers and umbrellas provided?

Four quality sun loungers deck the roof terrace and there are sun umbrellas, two tables and chairs available.

How far are the shops and restaurants?

There are shops and cafés, good restaurants and other amenities 3.5km away in the fishing village of Santa Luzia. Approximately 15 minutes walk from the house is a touristic village Pedras d’el Rei which has a shop, cafés and a restaurant, playground and gardens. Luz de Tavira is about the same distance and has more amenities.

How far are the beaches?

By Pedras d’el Rei, a beautiful 15 minutes walk away, there is a footbridge crossing the river and leading to Barril beach, which can be reached wither by foot or by miniature train, all year round. Terra Estreita is reached by boat from Santa Luzia during the summer season.

How far are the golf courses?

There are excellent golf courses within 10 to 15 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei.

Is a car recommended for this property?

Car is not at all essential, though recommended during the height of summer…and for reaching all the beautiful and interesting places further afield.  Car rental, taxi transfers and bicycle hire can be organized with local reputable firms in advance or by calling the local representative.

 

 

Is the accommodation suitable for children?

A practical and safe house for children, an ideal setting for exploring…! The gardens are fenced and gated and the lane is extremely quiet with no through transit.

What facilities are there for babies and children?

There is a cot and high chair provided. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.

Is the accommodation suitable for elderly?

Apart from the roof terrace the property is all on ground floor level, with no steps or split levels.

How close are the nearest neighbours? Is the property overlooked?

There are neighbours on either side of the house, yet the surrounding is very private and quiet.

What type of access it there to the property?

Reached via country lanes pertaining to the EcoVia pedestrian and cycle path circuit. A 5 minute drive from villages and main roads.

How quiet is the area around the property?

This location is quiet and peaceful yet not too remote, there are a handful of residents in the neighbourhood.

Is smoking permitted?

Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside the property.

Are pets allowed at the accommodation?

We can accept house trained pets, under the responsibility of the owners.

Which is the changeover day and time?

Flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as possible. Departure is by 10am and arrival is from 3pm unless otherwise arranged.

Are linen, bath towels and beach towels provided?

Yes, we provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change including a clean of the bathrooms.

Will there be provisions at the accommodation upon arrival?

There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of beverages.

Will there be a local representative available on arrival and in the event that we need any assistance?

Guests will be met at the villa, or otherwise informed where to locate the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and competent service from the owners, who can be contacted at anytime.
